Abstract: The United States is a country that worships individual heroism greatly. As a distinctive national character, heroism can be seen everywhere in American culture. As the movie center of America, Hollywood produces lots of movies and exports them to other countries every year. By the magnificent scenes and amazing special effects in these movies, America gains great profits. At the same time, American values and spirits are transmitted to the world. Among the movies we can see many of them praise the individual heroism. This paper discusses the individual heroism reflected in western movies, in military and war movies, and in science fiction movies. It hopes to help readers appreciate Hollywood movies better, and understand American individual heroism more deeply.

摘要： 个人英雄主义作为美国一种显著的民族性格，体现在美国文化的方方面面。好莱坞是美国的电影中心，每年向美国本土和世界各国出口大量影片。在通过恢宏浩大的战争场面和华丽炫目的电脑特技赢得巨大票房的同时，这些电影将美国式的文化价值观传播到世界各地。在好莱坞大片中充斥着大量以个人英雄主义为主题的影片。本文探讨了西部片中个人英雄主义，军事战争片中的个人英雄主义，和科幻片中的个人英雄主义。旨在通过对这些好莱坞大片中体现的个人英雄主义进行分析，帮助读者更好的欣赏好莱坞大片，更深刻的了解美国个人英雄主义。
