Abstract:China is one of the countries that have most of the festivals in the world. Chinese great civilization fosters various festival cultures. But with the economic globalization promoting the international cross-cultural communication and the impact of the foreign culture, Western festivals become more and more popular in China, especially among young people. The paper concerns the causation and the influence of the Western festival popularity, and the solutions of how to face it. It holds that national co-existence is indispensable for cultural attainment.

中文摘要:中国是世界上节日最多的国家之一。博大精深的中华文明，造就了色彩纷呈的节日文化。但随着世界经济全球化促使世界各国间的相互联系日趋紧密，跨文化交际日益频繁，市场经济的迅速发展和外来文化的冲击，中国传统节日文化的概念在现代人中逐渐淡漠，可来自西方的节日却大行其道。文章将对西方节日在中国盛行的原因及其对我国的节日文化造成影响，以及该如何看待西方节日的盛行提出一些自己的见解：我们应该坚持民族文化多元共存，实现民族文化的创新。
