Abstract:There are many types of family education in the world, and each of them is closely associated with its culture, displaying its distinctive features. Education is a cultural phenomenon. As we have known, family is the basic component of society. Family culture is a cultural phenomenon generated from family. That is to say, the different family education stems from different cultures, and in return, different family education reflects different social and cultural connotations. The U.S. economy and technology occupy a dominant position in the world. However, it must be admitted that this achievement is inseparable from the fact that American people have been attaching great importance to nurture talents, especially that American parents educate their childen in the families. American family education is a great example of the education of western countries. Great differences exist in the concepts of education, methods of cultivation and results of cultivation between Chinese family education and American family education. This paper will explore those differences from three aspects, and will mainly analyze the cultural reasons behind the differences. Through the comparison of family education between China and America, the author attempts to find out a solution to the Chinese family education's problems, which will be instructive to strengthen children's confidence and independence and improve parents' overall quality.

中文摘要:世界上有许多类型的家庭教育，并且各自都有其鲜明和独特的特点，反映了其独特的文化。教育本身就是一种文化现象。家庭是社会的基本组成结构，家庭文化则是基于家庭的基础上产生的一种特有文化现象，传统文化的差异孕育了不同的家庭教育，反过来，不同的家庭教育反映着不同的社会文化内涵。我们知道，美国的经济和科技都处于世界领先地位，这与他们对人才的培养是分不开的，而家庭是第一个培养人才的地方，美国人也特别热衷于家庭教育。所以，在这些类型的家庭教育中，尤其以美国的家庭教育最能代表西方主流文化。中美家庭教育在教育观念，培养方式及培养结果上有所不同。本文将从这三个方面对比中美家庭教育，并重点分析产生这些差异的文化方面的原因，通过比较中美家庭教育，并找出中国家庭教育存在的问题，借鉴美国家庭教育中的先进理念，转变我国的家庭教育观念，培养孩子的自信心和独立性，提高家长的整体素质。
