Abstract:This article focuses on the different culture and translation between Chinese and English people’s names. It is argued that different culture and translation between Chinese and English people’s names. The aims of this paper are that making people know the different cultures and the basic rules of naming; and eliminating the block between the Chinese and English people’s communication. Through the paper, we can understand the importance of name translation and the different customs and rules. This paper concludes that 1) the structure and order of names, the origin of family name, and the ways and customs of naming; 2) the rules of name translation, and 3) the word select in name translation.

摘要:世界上每一个人都有名字，人名在人际交往中起着重要的作用。本文写的是中英人名的文化差异和翻译。我写这篇论文的目的在于让人们了解中英人名的文化差异和在翻译时应注意它们之间的文化差异和要遵循的原则，以免在人们交往时发生冲突或误解。通过对本文的阅读和理解，人们能够明白中英人名的文化差异和在这种不同的文化背景下人们交往最基本的称呼应该如何处理，使对方明白的接受和理解，从而使交往正常和顺利的进行。这篇文章包含了从姓名的排列顺序、姓氏的来源、及命名的原则和方式方面谈了在人名翻译中人们应该遵循的翻译原则和根据不同的文化来翻译人名时要注意的问题，人名翻译的原则除了最基本的名从主人、约定成俗和简约原则外，还要遵循音译及音译和意译相结合的原则以及人名翻译的顺序和字、音的挑选。
