ABSTRACT:Chinese culture is the great creation of Chinese nation，its profound and extensive content influences the world in various ways. It also has a tremendous impact on film industry. Kung Fu Panda is a film which all the background and materials are selected in Chinese culture elements, it rapidly won good box-office chart and cherished by audiences deeply since it screened. As far as we know, one of the reasons why the newly animated movie Kung Fu Panda gets such a success is that it utilizes a great variety of Chinese culture elements in the film. Translation is a cross-culture behavior, and it is not only the exchange between the languages, but also the culture exchange beyond languages. Translation holds a great mission of culture diffusion. For translating Chinese into English, Kung Fu Panda left a vast space for us to discuss. In the light of relevance translation theory, this paper is to explore the most suitable method currently used to translate Chinese culture words into English.
This thesis is made up of five parts. Part one is the introductory part that demonstrates the necessity of discussing Chinese culture elements in Kung Fu Panda and the purpose of this paper. Part two gives us a detailed discussion on Chinese culture elements in the film. Part three takes a review of the translation studies and is devoted to the introduction of some essential concepts of relevance translation theory, which are literal translation，free Translation and transliteration. Part four focuses on the application of relevance theory which would be applied in translation of the Chinese culture elements in Kung Fu Panda. Part five draws a conclusion through the above-mentioned discussion of translations.

摘 要:中国文化是中华民族的伟大创造，它那博大精深的文化内涵以不同的形式影响着世界。理所当然，它对世界电影的发展也产生了深远影响。《功夫熊猫》是一部背景和题材都取于中国文化元素的电影,在它上映之后迅速获得了很好的票房成绩并且深受观众的喜爱.众所周知,它的成功原因之一就是在影片中运用了很多中国文化元素。翻译是一种跨文化行为，它不仅是一种语言转换，同时也是一种文化转换，翻译承担着传播文化的巨大使命。对于汉译英，很多情况下我们应当注意的一个问题就是对具有中国文化特色词汇的翻译。《功夫熊猫》给了我们很大的空间去研究文化词汇的翻译。本文以相关翻译理论为指导，试图探索《功夫熊猫》中的中国文化元素的体现及其翻译方法。
本文由五个部分组成，第一部分介绍了研究中国文化元素在《功夫熊猫》中的体现的必要性及本文的目标，第二部分详细讨论了电影中的中国文化元素，第三部分的主要内容是翻译理论，介绍了包括直译，意译和音译三种重要的翻译方法，论文的第四部分将理论联系于实际，分析了《功夫熊猫》中各种文化元素使用的翻译方法，最后，根据以上内容，给出了结论。
