Abstract:In our daily life, we need idioms. The generation of idioms, derived from people’ daily habits and life experience, has something to do with our daily life. English and Chinese are both with a long history, including a lot of idioms, which are implicative, humorous, serious and elegance. Moreover, they are not only concise and vivid, full of humor and wit, but also can make you feel an excellent enjoyment. The idioms of English and Chinese, as the essence of the carrier of two cultures, give the rich cultural information of the two regions, which reflects the differences between English and Chinese culture and cultural characteristics. Comparing with customs, religious beliefs, the factors of historical allusion, we can know in-depth understanding of English and Chinese idioms’ culture. English and Chinese idioms are giving the different nationality’s cultural features and cultural information, which are closely linked to cultural traditions. There are a large number of ethical characteristics in English and Chinese, reflecting the dignified cultural background. Therefore, it is very necessary for us to explore the cultural differences of English and Chinese idioms. It not only can strengthen our ability of English, but also can improve our understanding of western culture.

摘 要:生活中的习语无处不在，习语的产生与人们的劳动和生活密切相关，它形成于人们的日常生活习惯和生活阅历。英汉两种语言历史悠久，包含着大量的习语，它们或含蓄、幽默、或严肃、典雅，不仅言简意赅，而且形象生动，妙趣横生，给人一种美的享受。英汉习语作为两种文化的精华载体，承载着两个地区丰富的文化信息，充分反映出英汉两种语言的文化差异和文化特色。我们可以通过对比认识两地地域、习俗、宗教信仰、历史典故等因素来深入了解英汉习语文化差异。英汉习语承载着不同民族的文化特色和文化信息，它们与文化传统紧密相连，不可分割。英语和汉语两种语言中都有大量极具民族特色的习语,反映出极其丰厚凝重的文化底蕴。因此，探索英汉习语的文化差异是非常必要的，它不仅能加强我们应用英语的能力还能提高我们对西方文化的认识。
