Abstract:Language plays an important role in culture, and culture reflects different national features. In language, idioms are the essence of it. Idioms contain different geography, political and religion culture. From this point, we can say that idioms are a mirror of a nation. As time goes by, under different factors such as geography environment, history, manners and customs and religion beliefs, a great quantity of idioms come into being in Chinese and Western countries. Along with the progress of human culture, the connotation that English-Chinese animal idioms express, reflects the particularity and universality of culture. Therefore, when we translate English-Chinese idioms, different culture factors of different countries should be considered.
This article focuses on discussing the translation on animal idioms about dogs from different culture factors between China and western countries. In order that people can grasp the translation methods of animal idioms about dogs, better understand the connotations of animal idioms about dogs, therefore further understand the culture of a nation.

摘 要:语言是文化的重要组成部分，文化反映了不同的民族特征。在语言中，习语又堪称是其中的精华，它反映了不同的地理、政治、宗教文化，可以说习语是一个国家的一面镜子。随着时间的推移，中西方国家在不同的地理环境、历史、风俗习惯、宗教信仰中产生了大量的习语。随着人类文化的进步，英汉动物习语所表达的内涵，反映了文化的特殊性与普遍性。因此在翻译英汉习语时，就要了解中西方不同的文化因素。
本文着重从中西方国家关于狗的不同文化因素来论述与狗有关习语的翻译，从而让人们掌握与狗有关习语的翻译方法，更多的了解与狗有关的习语，并且进一步的了解一个国家的文化。
