Abstract: This paper aims to investigate the determinant factors influencing the destinies of the three main characters in Wuthering Heights. The paper analyzes the relation between Heathcliff’s bigotry and his tragic destiny, Catherine’s purity and selfishness and her tragic destiny especially after she betrays Heathcliff’s love, along with Catherine’s daughter, little Cathy’s braveness and her happy ending. And their different attitudes toward love and oppression. Finally, the paper makes a conclusion that their destinies are influenced by their personalities and attitudes toward love and oppression.

摘要：本文旨在分析小说《呼啸山庄》中人物命运的决定因素。文章分析了小说男主人公希克厉偏执的性格及其悲剧命运，女主人公凯瑟琳单纯而自私的性格与其背叛希克厉后的悲惨命运，以及凯瑟琳女儿勇敢的性格和她的幸福结局，同时通过分析三个人物不同的爱情观和对待压迫的不同态度，得出结论：小说人物的命运由性格和对待爱情和压迫的不同态度所决定。
