Abstract: With the development of politic, economy, science and technology, culture and social lives, a large number of new words come into being. The present study mainly aims to explore the formation and translation of English neologisms. English neologisms are mainly created in the following methods: creation of neologism, change of meaning and borrowing. Also, the translation of English neologisms is studied. The methods of translating English neologisms discussed in the present study are literal translation, free translation, transliteration, half transliteration and half free. It is hoped that the study is helpful for English teaching and learning as well as translating.

摘要：随着政治、经济、科技、文化和社会生活的发展，大量的新词不断涌现。本文旨在探究英语新词的构词方法和翻译技巧。本文探讨了英语中新词的三种构成方法：创造新词、旧词新意和借用外来词，并探讨了英语新词译成汉语时常采用的四种翻译方法：直译法、意译法、音译法、半音半意法，旨在为英语教学以及英汉翻译提供一定的借鉴。
