Abstract: The Color Purple is the masterpiece of Alice Walker,one of the most famous contemporary black American female writer. This paper intends to analyze the novel from the perspective of ethical literary criticism, including the oppression of ethical situation, loss of ethical identities and awakening of ethical consciousness, and tends to draw the conclusion that the majority of black women can get a real sense of the liberation only when they can make their own efforts to remove the spiritual shackles of “men are superior to women” in the patriarchal society.

摘要:《紫颜色》是美国当代黑人女作家艾丽斯·沃克的代表作。《紫颜色》主要讲述了20世纪30年代的美国南方黑人女性处在较低的位置下遭受到的压迫。本文将从伦理环境的压迫、伦理身份的缺失及伦理意识的觉醒这三方面来讨论美国南方黑人女性被剥夺了最基本的为人子女、母亲以及妻子的伦理身份;失去了正常伦理属性家庭关系里本应享受的父母之爱与两性之爱。本文认为:《紫颜色》充分体现了黑人女作家沃克一贯主张的伦理诉求:即广大黑人女性只有通过自己的奋发自为,解除父权社会下“男尊女卑”观念的精神枷锁,才能获得真正意义上的解放。
