Abstract:Different culinary customs and traditins in different nations create great influences on the formation of respective culinary idioms in their languages. This paper first discusses the differences in English and Chinese culinary idioms and their causes. Then, on the basis of Eugene A. Nida 's theory of dynamic equivalence, the paper studies some related techniques in translating culinary idioms between English and Chinese according to their different ways of expression.

摘要:各民族不同的饮食习惯对各自相关习语的形成具有很大影响。本文首先探讨英汉饮食习语的差异以及产生这些差异的原因,然后以奈达的“动态对等理论”为基础,对比英汉饮食习语在表达等方面的差异并探讨其相关互译技巧。只有从语言形式到文化内涵都再现了原习语的风格和精神,才能成功翻译饮食习语。
