Abstract: This paper aims to study the significance of cultivating students’ learning autonomy in junior high school English teaching in the context of New National Curriculum Standard. It first introduces the definition of learning autonomy and the related theoretical researches, then analyzes the status quo of junior high school students’ English learning autonomy and reveals the existing problems. Finally, based on the analysis of the internal and external factors that influence learning autonomy, some strategies are put forward for developing junior high school students’ autonomous learning ability.

摘要:本文探讨了新课程背景下培养初中生英语自主学习能力的重要性。文章在介绍自主学习的定义及其相关理论背景的基础上,分析了我国初中生自主学习能力的现状以及影响自主学习能力的内外因素、揭示其存在的问题,同时针对初中生自主学习能力的培养提出了一些策略。
