Abstract:With the continuous development of the trend of globalization in world economy, Internet has become increasingly important in people’s daily life. Network catchwords arise at the right moment. They are widely applied in the communication of the Internet and conventional expressions of Internet users. In order to express the meaning of the source language more naturally and appropriately, zero-translation is a better choice for translators. This thesis mainly introduces the definitions and classifications of zero-translation, and uses absolute zero-translation (ellipsis, transference) and relative zero-translation (transliteration, sound-meaning combination translation, complementary translation, image translation) to analyze the translation of Internet catchwords, so as to solve the untranslatability phenomenon caused by the difference between the source language and the target language, and improve the translatability of languages.
