Abstract
Chinese culture is broad and profound and at the same time, the Confucian culture is a representative of traditional thought. The cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries have deepened with the development of the times, the Confucian culture has become an important way to carry forward the Chinese culture. Core terms of Confucian culture such as "ren" "li" "jun zi" and "de", contained a large number of Chinese traditional thought. Confucian core terms will appear some semantic losses in the translation due to the difference of religious beliefs, cultural education, understanding or expression. For the sake of compensation in the translate core terms in English, we should use replacement, annotation, paraphrase or some other methods to reflect the meaning of the terms. These studies will help us to spread the Confucian culture and promote the culture exchange and dialogue between China and the West.
