Abstract

In the context of globalization, President Xi has recommended to build up China’s cultural confidence. That means China must treasure its traditional culture, of which Songci is typical. Classical Chinese poetry is not only the gem of Chinese culture but also a precious part of the world literature, therefore, how to reflect the beauty of artistic conception in translation is key for foreigners to feel the beauty in original text. Based on comparison between two translations by Xu Yuanchong and Lin Yutang respectively and beginning from the perspective of Reception Aesthetics, this thesis analyzes ways to achieve equivalence of beauty of ideal condition in Chinese poetry’s translation in ways that foreign readers can feel the original beauty.
