Abstract
Since the relationship between culture and translation has been obtaining more and more public attention,as a pair of translation strategies,domestication and foreignization appear in the recent years.This paper takes two Chinese translated versions of the novel The Great Gatsby as an example to have a comparative study of language expressions. Through comparison,we can find the procedure of translation and the factors influencing translation.We should understand domestication and foreignization correctly and combine them properly.
