Abstract
As is known to us all, our globalization has been developing so rapidly, the world's economic, political and cultural communications between countries are becoming more and more frequent. That is to say, we should attach great importance to the role of translation. Reasonable and accurate translation is significant owning to language and cultural disparity. The analysis on ellipsis in English-Chinese translation is one of the important aspects that translators should research.
The paper will analyze the differences in ellipsis in English-Chinese translation from five aspects, which are ellipsis of pronouns, conjunctions, articles, prepositions, modifications, which will make the communication between China and English-speaking countries more effective and smooth. The purpose is for us to have a better understanding of the language features in English and Chinese.
