Abstract
In recent years, with the development of the Internet, a large number of American TV series are introduced into China and are very popular among the Chinese people. The Big Bang Theory is the one of the representatives of American situation comedies which attracts a number of audiences due to its verbal humor and exaggerated performance. In order to promote the understanding of verbal humor for Chinese audiences, this paper studies the translation of verbal humor in The Big Bang Theory under the guidance of relevance theory. It tries to explore and conclude specific translation strategies and methods under the guidance of relevance theory. At the same time, it provides a new way for humor translation.
