Abstract

 

Economic globalization is one of the important features of the contemporary world economy and it is also an important trend in world economic development. Foreign trade happens every day, everywhere, thus accurate translation of foreign language is closely-related to successful foreign trade. Good translation will definitely boost foreign trade and vice versa. Particularly, the precise translation of words denoting major positions in business English, for title represents one person’s status and identity. Therefore, if translate corresponding titles wrongly or inappropriately, it will do great harm to the result of trade business. The paper is based on a large number of examples of words denoting major positions classification and translation, then to discuss the characteristics of words denoting major positions translation, and further analyzes the principles of words denoting major positions translation. Moreover, the paper adds the theory—“functional equivalence” to make the analysis more convincing. The aim of this paper is to help foreign trade personnel to do economic work better.
