Abstract
With the development of Chinese economy and the improvement of its status in the world, more and more national and international communities and persons are concerned about the news in China, especially the news on current affairs. Therefore, the translation on news becomes more and more important. As one of the significant translation strategies, adapted translation has attracted more attention of scholars and interpreters.
This thesis taking the news about G20 Summit as examples, analyses the methods of the adapted translation of news on current affairs from the perspective of Skopos Theory. By using addition, omission, combination and splitting in adapted translation of news on current affair, it is possible to reduce the differences between cultures, achieve the purpose of translation and reflect the political tendency.
