Abstract:The rapid development of Chinese tourism industry has attracted many international friends to have a sightseeing in China. However, the current situation of English translation of tourism text is far from satisfactory, causing negative impact on the development of Chinese tourism industry. This paper attempts to study the situation of Nanjing tourism translation using German skopos theory as a theoretical guide to analyze its problems and errors,putting forward some strategies and proposals on tourism translation with the view of making the English version more in line with the needs and reading habits of foreign tourists.
