Abstract: This paper bases on the translation of Oscar film song’s titles as the object of study, focusing on free translation in English song’s titles. This article intends to explore the effect of translation under the guidance of the Skopos theory. Translation of the film song’s titles can use transliteration or verbatim translation. And considering the theme of the film free translation can be used so that the translation of the plot film song’s titles can fit the atmosphere of the film. The translation of the love film song’s titles should accurately express the feelings of the characters. The translation of the Sci-fi film song’s titles should give the audience mysterious and exciting feelings, and the biography film song’s titles enhance the narrative function of the story.
