ABSTRACT
This paper explores and summarizes the trends and characteristics of Lin Yutang's translation researches by collecting and analyzing relevant studies on his translation during the period of the 12th Five -Years.
The data demonstrate that the studies of Lin Yutang's translation become less and less and monograph is intermittent during the five years from 2011 to 2015. It is shown that the study on Lin Yutang's translation is no longer a hot topic for academic communities in the recent years. The study indicates that although scholars analyze Lin Yutang's translation and do some researches from different angles, they mainly focus on studies on him from the framework of translation theories, cultural elements, the subjectivity and other aspects of macroscopic views. It can be shown that Lin Yutang's translation researches in terms of his style and thought are more concerned by scholars.
In addition, from the collected information, we see that few scholars choose other pages as their research targets. They mainly concentrate on studying his translation of Shen Fu's Six Chapters of a Floating Life. The main reason is that Six Chapters of Floating Life itself has high value of scholarly research. And this work has been provided with a higher value of translation research after Lin Yutang's translation.
Key words: Lin Yutang Translation Research Tendency
