Abstract
With the rising of China's international status, foreign economic and cultural exchanges have become increasingly frequent, foreign propaganda work is becoming more and more important.
Because of international publicity materials translation related to China's political, economic, military, diplomatic and other major strategies of policy issues, translators should be aware of their heavy responsibility. in order to make the whole world have a comprehensive, accurate, and true understanding of China, translators must be familiar with Chinese culture, history and current situation of China. The quality of international publicity materials translation will directly affect China's external image. The case of Prime minister Wen Jiabao’s answer in 2010 press conferences of NPC and CPPCC to Chinese and foreign journalists’ questions is a successful propaganda.
Based on the ancient Chinese poems that Wen Jiabao cited in the press conference of NPC and CPPCC, the paper mainly discusses the theoretical basis of international publicity materials translation, translation strategies of ancient Chinese poems from the perspective of Skopos Theory.
