在构建和谐社会的目标中,随着中国社会不断步入老年化，社区文化生活越来越受党和政府以及百姓的关注。提高社区老年人的生活质量，丰富老年人的精神生活，让老年人老有所乐、老有所学，已成为社区活动的重要工作和任务。而在社区音乐文化活动中“合唱”这一形式非常受老年人的欢迎，它不仅能给老年人带来欢乐的同时也学习了很多知识。因而在合唱中如何进行适合于这一群体的合唱训练有其一定的研究性。笔者在对合唱训练的质量和效果探讨和研究中，提出了老年合唱训练的要素、老年合唱训练的特点、老年人唱歌能力的分析等观点；并指出当代音乐专业工作者应如何借社区活动，开展社会实践，以合唱活动作为传播音乐文化的载体,对社区音乐文化在丰富人们的生活、普及大众音乐、促进社会安定团结、推进和谐社会等方面发挥着重要的作用。
