摘要：快速公交系统（Bus Rapid Transit）是一种介于传统的轨道交通模式和常规公交模式之间的新型地面公交运输系统。本文以常州为案例地，分析BRT的特征、形成的条件及其对城市发展的影响。研究发现常州市BRT的特征鲜明，BRT的形成因素可以概括为政治因素及城市本身的发展条件，BRT的形成对城市交通、城市经济及城市空间格局都产生了深远影响。
