Abstract：As an emerging field in China, subtitle translation is on the way, so it has not obtained enough attention from China ourselves and even the whole world to some extent. Neither did it have an all-round development. As a result, China lags far behind than western world compared to the theoretical studies in this field. In addition, China does not have as many works and papers about the theories in subtitle translation as western scholars, so learning and drawing lessons from the westerners is the necessary and only way to develop China's subtitle translation theories from now on. Combined with the research background and tendency of translation theory at home and abroad, this dissertation analyses the official English version of Chinese movies based on the theories of domestication and foreignization, hoping to devote the author's part to the advancement of China's subtitle translation theories. Taking Assembly as a major example, this dissertation mainly focuses on the translation of terms and the method of domestication and foreignization against the background of Chinese characteristics and cultures by analysizing the real usage of domestication and foreignization in the movie Assembly respectively in detail. Compared with the source language against the background of its specific culture, the applied method of domestication and foreignization is got to know in the translation of target language. In the ending part of this dissertation, the author gets some conclusions and also points out some flaws in her analysis, and the author will try the best to perfect those defects in the following time.

中文摘要：电影字幕翻译在中国才刚刚起步，因而属于一个新兴的领域，目前各方面的发展还不够完善且没有受到足够的重视，因而与西方国家相比较为落后，加上在中国相关的翻译论文和著作少之又少，所以向西方学习和借鉴则是国内字幕翻译理论发展的必经之路。本文结合国内外翻译理论的研究背景及趋势，以翻译理论——归化与异化为基础，深入分析国产电影字幕的官方英译译本，希望为中国电影的字幕翻译发展尽到自己的绵薄之力。本文以电影《集结号》作为个案着重分析，分别对该电影中的归化和异化进行较为详细地分析，并了解当今国产电影作品中翻译归化、异化的实际应用情况，重是点分析一些在中国特色背景下的专有名词的翻译，比较在源语的特殊文化背景下，目的语的归化与异化翻译方法。在文章的结尾部分，也得出了一些结论以及指出了本文不足之处。
