Abstract：With the rapid development of globalization, the economic association between China and other countries becomes more frequent. The demand of Business English is increasing rapidly, so there are more and more studies of it. However, most of those studies are focused on its use in practice. It is necessary to study its vocabulary systematically. As we know, vocabulary is basic to language. The comprehension of words plays a vital role in learning a language. But it is a big problem of how to learn Business English vocabulary effectively and efficiently. The cognitive psychologists, F.M. Craik and Lockhart, indicated that activities involving a deeper, more elaborate manipulation of information promote more effective vocabulary learning. Therefore, this thesis takes the theory of depth of processing as theoretical basis, analyzing the specialties of Business English vocabulary, trying to find some effective strategies to learn Business English vocabulary. Two studies have been conducted to prove the validity of those learning strategies guided by the theory of depth of processing. The analysis of the results shows the applications of those learning strategies do contribute to the Business English Vocabulary building. At the end, the thesis illustrates some useful vocabulary building strategies for Business English Majors.

中文摘要：随着全球经济的快速发展，中国与世界的经济交流日益频繁。人们对商务英语的需求日益增加，从而使商务英语在国内得到研究，但这些研究大多基于实用目的。有必要系统研究商务英语的词汇。众所周知，词汇是语言的基础，词汇的理解在语言学习方面，具有十分重要的意义。但如何高效快捷地学习商务英语词汇是一个很大的问题。认知学家，F.M. Craik 和 Lockhart 曾指出，对信息进行深入研究的活动，能够有效地促进词汇学习。因此，本论文以认知加工水平理论为理论框架，同时分析商务英语词汇特点，试图寻找一些有效的商务英语词汇学习策略。通过两次实验调查，证明在认知加工水平理论指导下的学习策略的有效性。通过对结果的分析，证明这些词汇学习策略的确有助于商务英语词汇的学习。最后，本论文为商务英语专业的学生，列出了一些有效的词汇学习策略。
