Abstract:Researchers at home and abroad have attached great importance to the studies of American dream in the movie The Pursuit of Happyness. Accordingly, various studies on American dream have been evoked both in the foreign countries and in China. Nevertheless, most of these studies focus their attention mainly on the positive side of the film. They belaud the spirit of the movie and exaggerate the possibility of personal spirit. However, this study attempts to explore the impossibility and fantasy of American dream in The Pursuit of Happyness.
This study first gives a brief introduction to the film and American dream, and then supplies a profound analysis on the huge obstacles to achieve American dream, the frustration brought by the dream, and the personal difficulties occurring in the perusing personal success in the film. And finally it makes a conclusion that American dream is not a possible dream but a fantasy.

摘要:美国梦的研究受到了国内外学者的重视，而这在国内外也引发了一系列关于美国梦的研究。然而，这些研究大多数都重视研究这部电影中美国梦的积极方面。他们对电影中所传递的精神大加赞赏，极力夸大了个人的能力。因此，本研究试图探讨和解读电影《当幸福来敲门》中美国梦的虚幻性，从而知道美国梦是不可能发生的。
在本次研究中，我们首先简单介绍这部电影和美国梦的情况，然后通过深入分析其中实现美国梦所遇到的阻碍、追求美国梦的挫折，个人追求美国梦的困难来揭示美国梦在真实生活中实现的可能性、偶然性和不确定性，从而揭示美国梦是不可能实现的虚幻本质。

Hollywood is the American dream factory that creates lots of films and televisions about coming true of American dream through the protagonist's hard-working and perseverance. Films which themes are the struggle history of a nobody can be found everywhere and they are all very moving. Those films and televisions are very popular between American even all over the world, they like those works just because they once also have such an American dream but find out that it is impossible to achieve in reality and they can have feel that the dream come true and the happiness of success through watching such works. Therefore, the essence of American dream is illusional and impossible in reality. So when people appreciate the moving film about reaching American dream and feel moving, they must come back to the reality and cannot lost themselves and deceived by the gorgeous exterior decoration of American dream in the films. They must based on the reality and recognize the illusionary essence of American dream.
