ABSTRACT:English is an integrated subject, which involves listening, speaking, reading and writing. Vocabulary is its branches and leaves, and grammar is its body. Learners’ language level can be measured according to grammar he masters and the accuracy he applies the language. Grammar is therefore crucial and difficult in English language teaching and learning. With the application of modern technology, computer multimedia is widely accepted for its advantage of capacity, rich information, being interesting and efficiency. Applying CALL may help to create a better circumstance for English teaching and learning. It may avoid the shortages that the traditional grammar teaching method brings about, and could improve classroom efficiency. In grammar teaching and learning, it puts students in certain language surroundings. However, there is no doubt that CALL isn’t perfect.  This paper probes the practice of teaching English grammar in the middle school with computer multi-media and the traditional teaching. The purpose of the practice is to compare the effects of these two methods and offer some suggestions for the middle school English teachers, hence improving the efficiency of classroom teaching.

摘要:英语是集听、说、读、写为一体的一门学科。词汇是其枝叶,而语法是其躯干,一个学生掌握英语语法的准确程度,是衡量其英语水平的尺度之一。由此可见,语法在语言学习中的重要性。教师应该用一种什么样的方法来有效地教授语法,并且学生也能接受。随着现代科学技术在教学中的广泛应用,计算机多媒体也因其在教学中的容量性、信息性、兴趣性和高效性等优势被人们广泛接受。利用计算机辅助教学为英语教学创设良好情境,它可弥补传统教学的不足,帮助提高课堂效率,在英语语法教学中把学生置于特定的学习环境中。但是,计算机辅助语言教学也有弊端,本文探索了多媒体环境下初中英语语法教学和传统英语语法教学的实践,其目的是通过比较两者教授语法的效果,为初中英语教师提供一种更好的教授语法的方法,以提高课堂效率。

 Computer multi-media is new English teaching method and is attempt for teachers, students and software. In the twenty-first century, the reform of English language teaching in teaching thinking, teaching concepts, and teaching approaches should be a line of thought, a direction and a historical trend. But teachers can not follow the trend blindly, while teachers should find a proper teaching method according to the actual situation of schools and students. The traditional teaching method has its benefit, we shouldn’t abandon it. If these two teaching methods are combined together, it will make teaching effect more efficiency.
