Abstract:The seven simple sentence patterns have never caught the attention of the scholars in the linguistic field. With the development of Construction Grammar in recent years, many scholars try to analyze these sentence patterns from the perspective of Construction Grammar. However, there is no research in SVOA construction in the light of Construction Grammar. Probing from V (verb) in the construction, based on the core principles of cognitive grammar “reality - cognitive - language”, this paper tries to use the theory of inheritance and coercion from the Construction Grammar to interpret SVOA construction. Based on the research approach of BNC (British National Corpus), through the building of a closed corpus, employing the normal analysis approach of CCxG, the thesis analyzes the syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic features of SVOA construction, and tries to explain how the multiple inheritance and coercion is shown in the SVOA construction.

摘要：英语七大简单句一直以来未曾引起学界的重视，然而随着近年来构式语法的兴起，从构式语法角度对简单句特别是对SVOA构式的分析解读并不多见。本文基于认知语法的核心原则“现实-认知-语言”，从V(动词)入手，尝试运用构式语法中的传承与压制理论来解读SVOA构式。基于BNC语料库的研究方法，通过建立封闭语料库，运用认知构式语法的常规分析方法，即句法、语义、语用特征分析方法，分别对其三大特征进行解析，试图阐明多重压传观在SVOA构式中的体现。

The purpose of this paper is to probe into the linguistic features of SVOA construction from the perspective of Cognitive Construction Grammar (CCxG). From the point of view of “Inheritance” and “Coercion”, a deep exploration about this construction’s features is shown in this paper concerning syntax, semantics and pragmatics, by means of giving some examples of SVOA construction.
Since SVOA construction can be found everywhere. The only way to limit the research scope is to build up a closed corpus. Corpus is method that can be used in the process of linguistic analysis. It is one of the most widely used linguistic methodologies. A closed corpus is used for writing papers and research articles, in order to make the paper or article more convincing and persuasive.
The methodology of this paper is a combination of being qualitative and quantitative. It is said to be qualitative because this paper is explanation-oriented, and SVOA construction will be explored with the theory of multiple inheritance-coercion. On the other hand, because the analysis is based on the data collected and through an established closed corpus.
