Abstract: Wuthering Heights is the only novel created by Emily Bronte. In the article, Heathcliff has his own character, such as tenacity and arrogance, pursuing freedom and equality, etc. Different critics start from different point of view, analyze it in different ways, and they draw very different conclusions. The paper analyses the reasons for Heathcliff’s character from the following perspectives, such as the social background, growth environment, love & hate between Heathcliff and Cathy, and at last his consciousness for the reasons of Heathcliff’s character.

摘要：《呼啸山庄》是英国女作家艾米莉·勃朗特惟一的一部小说。文中希刺克里夫有着桀骜不驯，对爱情忠贞，追求自由平等等性格。不同的评论家从不同的视点出发，对其进行了解读，从而得出了不同的结论。本文将分析希斯克利夫形成这些性格的原因，并从社会背景，成长环境，他与凯西的爱与恨，以及最后他的反省觉悟等方面进行阐述。
