Abstract: Based on theories concerning Chinese and Western thinking modes, the present paper is intended to make an analysis of the differences between Chinese and Western thinking modes: circular and linear, holistic and analytic and subjective and objective thinking modes. Besides, the present paper adopts an questionnaire, an approach of empirical research, and makes a thorough analysis of it in order to find out the main causes and corresponding strategies for the influence of the differences between Chinese and Western thinking modes on English writing for senior middle school students. By studying and analyzing the results of the survey, the influence of the differences between Chinese and Western thinking modes on English writing for senior middle school students is analyzed in the aspects of lexis, syntax and discourse. In addition, the corresponding strategies introduced by senior middle school teachers are recommended as well.

摘要: 本文根据中西方思维模式的理论，分析了中西方的螺旋形和直线形、整体性和客体性、主观性以及客观性的思维模式差异。此外，本论文采用访谈这种实证研究方法，旨在找出中西方思维差异对高中生英语写作影响的主要原因和相应的策略。通过研究和分析调查结果显示，中西方思维方式差异对高中生英语写作的影响主要体现在词汇，句法和语篇这三方面。
