Abstract: This paper makes a contrast of family education between America and China from the aspects of aims, contents and manners, and then from the perspective of Geert Hofstede’s model of cultural dimensions including power distance, uncertainty avoidance, masculinity versus femininity, individualism versus collectivism, long-term versus short-term orientation and it is combined with the hot spot news of tiger mother’s and wolf father’s education methods. It analyzes the reasons for family education differences. The author believes that some favorable methods of American family education can be learned in China.

摘要:本文从中美两国教育的目标,内容,方式三方面进行了对比,并在霍夫斯泰德(Hofstede)的文化维度理论的基础上, 从权利距离的角度,不确定性规避的角度,男性化社会/女性化社会的角度,个人主义-集体主义的角度,时间取向的角度五方面对中美两国教育进行对比,结合最近发生的虎妈、狼爸的教育方法这些教育类的热点新闻近一步对中美家庭教育进行对比,最后阐述了中美两国教育不同的原因。笔者认为有一些很好的美国家庭教育方法值得我国的家庭教育借鉴。
