[Abstract] My thesis is mainly talking about Jane Eyre’s two admirable characters---her independence and her strong will. She was a girl who was neither pretty nor wealthy. But her characters made people like her and admire her. She strived for her happiness with constant pursuits.
There are two clues in my thesis: one is about her independent spirit; the other is about her strong will. Her independence could be divided into two parts: independence on love and on money. On the other hand, her strong will can also be divided into two main parts: the strong will was embodied in her inner world struggle and in the outside world struggle as well when she faced with difficulties. Jane Eyre’s independent spirit and strong will are like a shinning star directing us to a bright road, which helps us become stronger in our future life.

摘要:本文主要讨论简·爱令人钦佩的性格—她的自主，坚强的优秀品质。简·爱虽然不漂亮也不富有，但是她的性格却使她令人们钦佩。简·爱通过自己不断地努力最终找到她幸福的归宿。
论文将以两条线索展开：一方面是从简·爱独立自主的精神论证，另一方面是从简·爱坚强的意志品质论证。简爱的独立自主精神分为两大块：爱情上的独立以及经济上的独立；简·爱的坚强的意志品质也分为两大块：面对外界的困难时以及面对自己内心的挣扎时表现出来的坚强的精神。
简·爱这种独立自主的精神以及坚强的意志品质深深地吸引着我们并值得我们学习。在嘈杂浮躁的现代社会中这种精神犹如一颗启明星指引着我们，使我们勇敢地追寻自己的人生。
