Abstract:As the continual development of civilization, the culture communication between Chinese and Western countries has been increasingly obvious. Poetry is an important part of human nature, the translation of poetry is a special activity of culture communion. In order to foster the transmit and communion of culture, the translation of poetry has become a problem worth discussing. It is a notable features of poetry that heavy use of image. Image is the soul of poetry, however, the most barriers to the translation of poems and songs is image transmission. In the process of translating poetry, keeping the integrality and fascination of poetry relies on efficiency of image processing. This paper discusses the role and significance of images in translation of poems, and analyzes main factors contributing to the difficulty in processing images. Finally, the paper puts forward some relevant solutions.

中文摘要:随着人类文明的不断发展，中西的文化交流日益显著。诗歌是人类文化的重要组成部分, 诗歌翻译是一种特殊的文化交流活动.。因此，为了促进文化的传播和交流，诗歌翻译成为值得探讨的问题，诗歌语言的一个显著特征就是大量地使用意象。意象是诗歌的灵魂, 诗歌翻译的最大障碍 ,在于意象的传达。在诗歌的翻译过程中,要保持意象的完整性和诗歌的魅力,依赖于对意象的有效处理.本文阐述了意象在诗歌翻译中的作用和意义。并分析了意象难译的原因。最后提出了英汉诗歌互译中意象问题的处理方法。
