Abstract:Spoken English is an important symbol of whether English learners succeed in learning it or not; the fluency of spoken English is one of significant part of valuating the level of spoken English. With the entry into WTO and operation of 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, fluency of spoken English are paid great attention to in China.
So far, many studies about fluency have been made at home and abroad, which mainly involve the factors influencing fluency: relations among fluency, accuracy and complexity; teaching mode of improving fluency, etc. Most of them focus on improving fluency according to external factors.
Although there are many factors that affect fluency in English, those factors are either external or internal. After many years of studying English, a lot of college students could not speak English fluently. Regard to this phenomenon, this dissertation works out measures to improving fluency of spoken English, by referring studies which had been generalizing and analyzing factors both internal and external, from students’ own situation as a starting point.
It is the hope of author that this dissertation could help college students to improve fluency of spoken English.

中文摘要:口语是英语学习成功与否的重要标志,而流利度是评价英语口语水平的一个重要的方面。随着中国加入世贸组织和成功举办2008年的奥运会,英语口语流利度越受重视。
目前,国内外已对流利度这方面进行许多研究,主要涉及影响英语口语流利度的因素,英语口语流利度与复杂度、准确度三者之间的关系,提高流利度的教学模式等,多数是从外因探讨如何提高英语口语流利度。
影响英语口语流利度的因素从大方向分为内在因素和外在因素。我国许多大学生在经过多年的英语学习后,口语尚未达到流利的程度。针对此现象,本文从学生自身情况出发,结合已有的研究,通过归纳,分析影响流利度的内因和外因,并提出提高大学生英语口语的流利度策略。
希望本文的研究结果,可为高校学生提高英语口语流利度提供合适的方法。
