Abstract: Successful cosmetic name translation will directly influence the market development of the commodity and its international marketing. This paper aims to explore the cultural differences between English and Chinese for the purpose of translating cosmetic brand names. To analyze cultural similarities and differences between English and Chinese can deepen the understanding of the names of cosmetics. The value in appropriate cosmetic names can help enterprises to create more economic benefits. As a good understanding of the cultural differences between English and Chinese can help us translate cosmetic brand names well, this study may have its practical value in further research.

摘要:成功的化妆品名称翻译会直接影响商品的市场开拓与跨国营销。本文试图通过分析英汉文化差异来探讨化妆品名称的翻译。分析英汉文化之间的异同之处可以加深对化妆品名称的了解。体现在化妆品名称中的价值能为企业创造更多经济效益。由于深入了解英汉文化差异对于翻译好化妆品名称很有帮助,因此本研究具有一定的实用价值。
