Abstract: English, as a communication tool, plays a cruel role in cross-cultural communication. However, pragmatic failure often gives rise to cross-cultural communication breakdown. Chinese students can hardly avoid committing pragmatic failures in the English converstion. For efficient communication and correct understanding, teachers should focus their attention on pragmatic competence and help the students raise their communicative ability. This paper aims to anlyze the causes of pragmatic failures of the Chinese students and explore ways to avoid this kind of failures by enhancing culture teaching .

摘要:英语,作为一种沟通工具,在跨文化交际中,起着至关重要的作用。然而,语用失误常常会造成跨文化交际的失败。中国学生也难以避免在英语会话中出现语用失误。为了能有效的进行沟通和理解对方的说话用意,老师们应侧重于语用能力的培养,并且帮助学生提高他们的交际能力。本文旨在分析中国学生发生语用失误的原因,并且探讨如何通过加强文化教学来避免这种语用失误。
