Abstract: Harry Potter series is undoubtedly one of the most popular novels in twentieth century. This glorious success makes “Harry’s mother”, J.K.Rowling, become one of the most popular children’s literature authors in the world. Both literary critics and common readers sing highly praise of the entertaining, cultural, educational and literal values of Harry Potter series. This paper is based on the development of heroism and characteristics of heroism, and four traditional heroic values reflected in the character Harry Potter, namely love, sacrifice, persistence and optimism are to be explored in the paper. Furthermore, the novelty of Harry’s unique heroic trait, cooperative spirit is also to be illustrated. Heroism in the character Harry Potter makes the series not only an pleasant one to enjoy, but an educational one to learn.

摘要:《哈利·波特》系列小说无疑是二十世纪最为畅销的小说之一。它的巨大成功使其作者，J.K.罗琳成为当代最著名的儿童文学作家。不论是专业评论家还是普通读者都高度赞扬了《哈利·波特》系列小说的娱乐、文化、教育和文学意义。本文意在根据英雄主义的发展以及代表观点来分析《哈利·波特》系列小说中英雄主义的传统价值及其发展。以哈利·波特这一人物为切入点，着重剖析其反映的爱、牺牲、坚持和乐观这四种英雄主义特质。此外，哈利身上的合作精神这一特点也将得以展示。哈利·波特的英雄主义特质使得这一系列书籍不但具有可读性，同时兼具教育性。
