ABSTRACT:It is common that when students study foreign languages, they are easily affected by their native languages, especially their dialects, most of which are their mother tongues. The mother tongue is so deeply ingrained in students’ mind that they often subconsciously transfer it to their foreign languages learning. The transference of the native language includes positive transference and negative transference. As one of the seven major dialects in China and the largest one in Hunan Province, Xiang Dialect also influences students on their English learning, which brings about some mistakes and errors.
This article mainly analyzes the negative transference of Xiang Dialect on pronunciation, vocabulary and culture and proposes some techniques to take advantage of the positive transference and some solutions to overcome the negative transference of Xiang Dialect.

摘 要:学生在学外语时存在着一个十分普遍的现象，那就是容易受到自己母语的影响，尤其是受到方言的影响。由于母语在脑海中是如此的根深蒂固，以至于学生经常无意识地将母语迁移到其外语学习中去，这种现象就是母语的迁移，它包括正迁移和负迁移。作为全国七大方言之一以及湖南省最大的方言，湘方言也对学生的英语学习产生影响，常常会给学生的学习带来一些偏误。
本文主要就湘方言在学生英语学习中对发音、词汇以及文化方面产生的负迁移进行分析；并提出一些解决方案，以更好地利用湘方言的正迁移，减少负迁移的影响。
