Abstract: English language is considered as one of the most widely used language and an important tool for cross-cultural communication. Those who engage in transnational exchanges must understand English vocabulary of cultural background and the correct meanings in different contexts in some ways. People should be careful to use the sexist words in order to avoid they inadvertently make mistakes in their communication or cause unnecessary misunderstanding. Thanks for the development of women's Liberation Movement to improve the women social status, sexism has been indifferent to a lot, the current trend is the appearance of neutral English words and the disappearance of the sexist English language. Therefore, there has been appeared some new words for eliminate sexism, with the passage of a gender perspective in depth, , these new words are also more and more be accepted by everybody. With the specific phenomena, the causes, and the strategies of eliminating sexism in English language, we analyze the phenomena of sexism in English. This thesis aims to help people eliminate sexism and norm the application of standard language. This thesis plays an important role in English teaching, more importantly, which helps those English learners get a better understanding of the English language.
