Abstract:English is an important tool of human communication. It is continually developing and changing. In China, using English is very popular for people. To communicate well with foreigners is an essential factor for China’s successful development. Nowadays, by the extension of Internet and universality of mass media, various Internet abbreviated neo-vocabs appear.
There is much research on Internet abbreviated neo-vocabs. However, most of that is talking about the development tendency of Internet abbreviated neo-vocabs. This thesis studies the translation of the Internet abbreviated neo-vocabs in Chinese-English translation. This thesis studies the causes, the current situation and translation of Internet abbreviated neo-vocabs by transliteration, meaning implication and combination of literal translation and free translation.
From the research, the emergence of Internet vocabularies is the demand of social development and its development almost follows the law of the evolution of Chinese vocabularies. From the point of view of evolution and the use of Internet vocabularies, there are three trends. The first is that the Internet vocabulary will come to the society from the Internet and later on will be part of standard Chinese; the second is that some Internet words will stay just online and be Internet language; the last is that some will disappear soon.
It is the hope of the author that the present study will bring some new light to the netizens to understand and use Internet abbreviated neo-vocabs.

摘要:英语，作为人类交际的重要工具，总是在不断进步和变化。在中国，近年来各方面发展迅速，跟外国友人良好的交流沟通是中国发展成功必不可少的因素。这时，伴随着网络的推广以及大众传媒的普及，各式各样的网络新词的出现就顺理成章了。
但这些具有特色的网络缩略新词找不到对等词汇而成为汉英翻译中的一大难题。关于谈论网络缩略新词这题目，有不少卓有成效的探索，但大多是讨论其发展趋势。本论文从直译、意译和合译的手法，重在研究近五年中国在经济、文化、社会生活方面出现的具有特色的网络缩略新词产生原因、现状及其英译方法。
通过研究，探索网络缩略词的翻译方法在以后的网络世界，甚至于在社会生活中的重要性。网络词汇的产生是社会发展的一种需求，是外因和内因共同作用的结果，其发展和演变基本遵循了汉语词汇发展演变规律。从网络词汇的演变和使用来看，未来的网络词汇将有三种发展趋势：一、走出网络，融进社会，被规范后成为现代汉语规范语言的一部分；二、停滞于网络，成为网络方言的一部分；三、一部分网络词汇，速生速灭，成为语言发展历史长河中的一粒沉沙。
本论文的目标是带给广大运用网络缩略词的网民启示，能更好理解和运用网络缩略词。
