Abstract:Nowadays, modern distance education has become one of important parts of English education, which is also the necessary choice to propel quality-oriented education and to resolve the problems of unequal teaching resources. However, most researches at home and abroad aimed at higher education, adult education, vocational and technical education, less on the English teaching in senior school. Therefore, this paper takes Yiliang No.1 senior middle school as a case study to proceed research by ways of questionnaire, interview and class observation. It surveys and analyzes from the aspects of students, teachers, teaching resources and so on, which illustrates the applied condition of distance education in senior school. And this paper also discusses the learners’ cognitive level about distance education, adaptive condition and the factors which affect their adaptability. Finally, feasible suggestions are provided with the help of Constructivism Theory as following. Teachers should cultivate the students’ autonomous learning ability, traditional role of teachers needs to change, schools and educational institutions should deepen the application of distance education. The purpose of this paper is to settle the emerging problems when schools apply distance education and improve the students’ and teachers’ adaptability. It demonstrates that the distance education is adaptive of English teaching in senior school. Hence, it is good for eliminating the apprehension of those schools which have intention to choose the new methodology and encouraging schools to extend the application of distance education, and break a new approach for realization quality-oriented education in English teaching.

中文摘要:现代远程教育已发展为国内外现代英语教育的一个重要组成部分,是全面推进素质教育,解决教育资源分配不均的必然选择。然而,目前国内外有关远程教育的研究集中在高等教育、成人教育、职业技术教育等方面。在高中英语教学中的研究比较少。因此,本文采用问卷调查、访谈及课堂观察等方法,对宜良第一中学实行远程教育的情况进行调查,通过对学生、教师、教学资源等方面的分析,阐述了远程教育在高中英语教学中的应用情况。探讨了学习者对远程教育学习模式的认识程度、适应状况及影响适应能力的因素。最后,在建构主义理论的帮助下,提出了以下建议:培养学生的自主学习能力、转变教师的传统角色、加大学校和相关教育部门对远程教育的资金投入,以便解决学校在采用远程教育过程中出现的各种问题。论证了远程教育在高中英语教学中是适应的,因此消除一些有意愿应用远程教育学校的顾虑,并且鼓励学校推广远程教育在高中英语教学中的运用,为全面实现英语教学中的素质教育开辟新的路径。
