Abstract: Based on the empirical study of 60 high school students’ English learning strategies through questionnaires, the paper aims to reveal students’ use of the six categories of English learning strategies: memory strategies, cognitive strategies, compensation strategies, metacognitive strategies, affective strategies and social strategies. Besides that, we also need to make comparisons of English strategy use between different gender and grades. The result shows that students’ frequency of using those strategies is at medium level. Though female learners employ English learning strategies less frequently than male ones did, but they do not have significant differences on the whole. The difference between students from different grade is not significant as well. So the paper makes some practical suggestions to high school students about how to improve their use of English strategy.

摘要:通过对60名高中英语学习者学习策略的实证研究,采用问卷调查方式,了解高中学生英语学习策略六大类的使用情况,六种策略分别是记忆策略,认知策略,补偿策略,元认知策略,情感策略以及社交策略。除此之外,学习策略使用性别,年龄的差异也是论文的研究重点。得出相关结论:高中生英语学习策略的使用处于中等水平,男女生使用策略差异不大,年龄引起的差异也并不显著。为此本文提出了一些实用建议,指导高中生提高学习策略的使用。
