Abstract:On a global scale, natural disasters that are increasingly frequent contribute to tremendous property loss and grave mental damage. Coverage of disasters is of inherently significance in news value and offers high degree of social concern. During the past few years, more and more attention has been directed to the study of Chinese and English language stylistic features in newspaper. TV, however as one of the traditional media for transmitting news, is becoming indispensable to the public. Furthermore, official news media stations serve for a nation’s ideology. Therefore, a study on Sino-American stylistic features of TV-news reports of disasters and their differences of Ideology are worth people’s attention.
In terms of Chinese and American TV-news reports, both showcase their respective features. The dissertation, from the perspective of stylistics, gives a further insight into Sino-American ideology based on four stylistic levels, namely, phonetic level, lexical level, syntactic level, textual level, through the analysis of CCTV’s coverage of Wenchuan earthquake and NBC’s coverage of Hurricane Sandy. It mainly employs the method of induction, classification and comparative study. The research results can help students raise the awareness of cross-culture and be conducive to profound exchanges and cooperation in mass media between two nations.

摘要:从全球范围看，自然灾害越来越频繁，它给人民群众带来了巨大财产损失和深重的精神伤害。灾害新闻具有很高的新闻价值和强烈的社会关注度。在过去的几年内，学者将更多的注意力转移到中英报刊语言的文体学特点。电视，作为一种特殊的传播媒介，也逐渐成为人们生活中不可缺少的部分。此外，每一个国家新闻播报中心都是为各国的政治形态服务。所以关于中美电视灾难新闻报道文体学差异及其意识形态差异的研究是值得我们去关注的。
中美两国的电视新闻媒体报道呈现出不同特点。本文以文体学为研究角度，通过分析对比中国中央电视台和美国NBC电视台对发生在各自国内的汶川地震和桑迪飓风的新闻报道文稿，从语音特点、词语运用、句式运用、篇章结构四个层面分析文体特征差异，进一步探讨中美两国意识形态的不同。通过对比中美文化差异，学生可以提高跨文化意识，对于今后中美两国在传媒领域交流和合作也有更为深远的影响。
