Abstract: This paper aims to investigate the linguistic features of American slang and cultural factors hidden below the language. American slang is a special kind of language with a long history and its unique characteristics. With examples of American slang and related research, the paper summarizes the language characteristics of American slang, including newness, fashion, humor, understanding, brief and rhyming. Any language is created based on the culture and also the reflection of the culture. American youth culture and the criminal and drug addict culture are the culture factors influencing American slang.

摘要：本论文旨在研究美国俚语的语言特色和该语言之下隐藏的文化因素。美国俚语是一种拥有悠久历史和特点的一种语言。本文结合美国俚语实例的运用以及相关的研究，概括出美国俚语的语言特色，即新颖、时尚、幽默、容易被理解、简洁和有韵律。任何一门语言都能反映其对应的文化。美国青年文化和罪犯及吸毒者文化是影响美国俚语的文化因素。
