Abstract: Based on the 17th Congress Report and its English version, this thesis is first concerned with the sentence types in terms of Chinese subject: no-subject sentence, subject-predicate sentence and compound-subject sentence. English subject, different from Chinese subject, is indispensable in a sentence. In terms of subject translation, there are three methods: addition, corresponding translation and conversion.

摘要：本文以十七大报告原文及其英译本作为研究对象，围绕非主语句、主谓句和复合主语句这三种句式对汉语的主语展开分析。与汉语主语不同，英语主语对全句有某种决定性的语法功能，具有“不可或缺性”。在比较两种语言主语的基础上，提出主语的三种翻译方法：增译法、对应译法、转译法。
