Abstract: A Tale of Two Cities is a masterpiece of the English novelist Charles Dickens. In the novel, he expresses his humanitatianism by commending kindness and integrity and opposing the aristocrats who tyrannized over the public; at the same time he disaffirms avengers to resort violent means. This paper aims to interpret Dickens’s humanitatianism from his attitude to French Revolution and description of the important characters in the novel.

摘要:《双城记》是英国小说家狄更斯的一部力作, 从作品中作者对善良、正直的赞扬, 对复仇者暴力行为的否定, 可以感受到作者所具有的人本精神和明确的政治倾向。本论文通过分析狄更斯对法国革命态度的变化和他对作品中人物的态度来解读狄更斯的人道主义思想。
