Abstract:Diet is an integral part of human life, and it is also very important for the existence or development of mankind. Because of the differences between Chinese and western cultural traditions, Chinese and western dietary cultures are different in concepts, banquet etiquettes, dietary contents, cooking patterns, nature. In order to promote cultural communication between China and the west, there is a great need for us to explore these differences between Chinese and western dietary cultures. By analyzing and comparing the differences between Chinese and western dietary cultures, we can know the respective characteristics of China’s and western dietary cultures and give some constructive suggestions on how to approach different dietary cultures between China and the west in intercultural communication.

摘要:饮食是人类生活以及生存与发展过程中不可或缺的一部分。由于中国和西方国家之间的文化传统不同，中西方饮食文化在观念、宴会礼仪、饮食内容，烹饪方式、与性质方面都存在着差异。为了促进中西方的文化交流，研究中西方饮食文化差异是十分必要的。本文拟通过对中西方饮食文化的比较与分析，让我们了解到中西方各自的饮食文化的特征，并就跨文化交际活动中如何处理饮食文化的差异提出一些建议。
